One day, a small kitten was discovered shivering in the cold on a college campus. After being rescued and taken in, the kitten eventually warmed up to humans and began seeking out love and attention.
Ginny, a foster carer and TNR rescuer, was recently reached out to about a kitten in urgent need of help. Workers at a college cafeteria had spotted the kitten limping and hiding in the trash. When Ginny arrived, she found the kitten cold to the touch, emaciated, and very weak. He barely moved, with his eyes half-closed and his breathing shallow.
The little kitten was discovered shivering outside a college cafeteria by Ginny @poetheblue. Without hesitation, Ginny sprang into action, doing everything she could to help the tiny feline warm up. “I wrapped him in cozy blankets, held him close on my lap with a heating pad and a heater close by, and just chatted with him,” Ginny shared with Love Meow.
The poor kitty was in such a delicate state that Ginny wasn’t sure if he would survive the night. Despite the uncertainty, Ginny was determined to show him love and provide comfort, knowing that at least he would feel cared for and warm in his final moments.
Ginny wrapped him in cozy blankets and used warming devices to help raise his body temperature. She affectionately named him Westley, inspired by the character from The Princess Bride because he arrived in a nearly lifeless state, and she was optimistic he would recover just like his fictional namesake. As she reached out to gently stroke him, he stirred slightly, but then began to purr softly, the sound rumbling from deep within him.
After getting a bit of food in his system, he started to feel more energized. Ginny, who goes by the username @poetheblue, remembered the moment vividly. “He perked up and finally raised his head to look at me,” she recounted to Love Meow. “Seeing that he was responsive and hungry, I knew there was a chance he could pull through.” It was at that moment when Ginny began to feel optimistic about his chances of survival.
Westley managed to pull through the night and was able to feed himself. Ginny shared a heartwarming update on Twitter that he fell asleep with a full belly, embraced by love and warmth.
The following day, Westley woke up feeling stronger. A visit to the vet revealed that he was approximately seven weeks old and they were able to pinpoint the reason behind his limp.

After gaining some new strength, he was strutting around much more smoothly. As shared by Ginny (@poetheblue), the vet mentioned that he had some issues with his Lumbar 7/Sacral 1 vertebrae spinal column, but it wasn’t hindering his movements much and surgery wasn’t an option. They recommended keeping his activity in check instead.
The vet team had doubts about whether Westley could manage the litter box independently, but this determined tabby proved them wrong.
Ginny, also known as @poetheblue, watched with delight as Westley, her tabby cat, regained strength in his legs and began to wander around his new home. Westley wasted no time in discovering the litter box, and to everyone’s surprise, he quickly learned how to use it, overcoming all the obstacles in his way.
Westley quickly mastered the art of using the litter box all by himself, impressing Ginny @poetheblue. With his appetite on the rise, he began gaining weight. Every time he was petted, Westley would purr non-stop and soon transformed into a cuddle-loving kitty. Within just a week, the once shy kitten underwent a remarkable transformation and now constantly cuddles and purrs, craving affection from his foster mom.
Nothing brings him more joy than receiving affectionate gestures and cuddles from his owner, Ginny, who goes by the handle @poetheblue on social media.
According to Ginny, her cat Westley starts meowing the moment she stops petting him, showing his desire for love and attention. As a result, she spends a considerable amount of time showering him with pets.
Westley has also shown great progress in his behavior, as he is now eating well and becoming increasingly comfortable around people. Ginny mentioned that there is potential for him to be adopted by one of the individuals who found him, which is an exciting prospect for his future.
Ginny, also known as @poetheblue on social media, shared a heartwarming update about Westley. Whenever she enters the room, Westley immediately flops on his side, craving rubs and snuggles. It’s evident that he is thrilled to have a cozy nest, delicious food, and an abundance of love and affection from Ginny.
